Tis the season to be merry...

So to say I am behind on blogging is an understatement, but better late than never...right?  Here is what we were up to during the month of December.

The first Monday of December for the past 27 years we have gone to a live nativity scene for family home evening. I know it has been that many years because I played the part of baby Jesus when I was a baby.  It is one of the longest standing Rigby family traditions and I love it. 

We went to The Festival of Trees to see our little star. The SOFT foundation donated a tree with a collage of all the little soft angels in Utah which featured our little Indie.

For young womens we took Front Runner to Temple Square to see the lights and Indie and Tony came along for the night. Tony got some pretty sweet shots of the Temple.

We spent the better part of a day putting up our freaking Christmas lights.

By the end, we all felt like this and I wonder why we go through all that trouble when half the lights don't end up working.

On the Eve of Christmas Eve we always have "The Sister's Party."  My mom, her sisters and all the spouses, kids and grandkids get together.  It is a house full but one of my favorite parties.

Christmas this year was great.  We really toned it down when it came to gift giving which took a lot of stress off me.  Sometimes I get too wrapped up in all the crap to actually enjoy the season and I wanted it to be different this year.  I got my shopping and wrapping done relatively early and then we just played.

We spent Christmas Eve with Tony's family and Christmas day with my family.  I didn't get any great family shots but I had to post this one of Mad.  Have you ever seen so many Barbies at once...

We were really spoiled this year, as usual, by parents, grandparents, siblings, friends and each other.  I am always shocked at the amount of loot we end up with.  The best part of my Christmas was this book that Tony made for me.  It consists of pictures from the first five years of our marriage.  He has been working on it for months and at one point he was ready to order it and some how lost the whole thing on his computer and had to start over.  He worked so hard on it and it turned out beautifully.  I dare you to read this puppy without shedding a tear.  It is perfect.
