Lost...literally...

Tonight was the season premiere of Lost.  I seriously love the show but it is seriously confusing.  Of course no questions were answered and more questions arose but, of course, I can't stop watching it.  I. am. hooked.
Allie prepared an amazing turkey dinner complete with mashed potatoes, rolls, salad and the most delicious stuffing.  Jeremy and Britnie brought a delectable death by chocolate, Mike brought the beverages, we brought black bean salsa chicken dip and chips and Corey brought the movie snacks.  It was quite a feast.
Jack, Sawyer and Kate were there too, they didn't bring anything...freeloaders.  Sawyer couldn't keep his hands off me, I had to remind him I am a married woman.

Extreme Makeover...

Indie had her first real haircut today.  The wings in the back were getting a little out of control and it looked especially funny because she has a little bald spot where she sleeps.  Here are some pictures and a video of the experience.

Walkin' in a winter wonderland...

Yesterdays storm brought about 3 inches of snow, actually I am a really bad judge of how many inches it snows, but after shoveling our monster driveway it felt like 3 inches.

Anywho, it was a lovely, sunshiny day today so we thought we would brave the 33 degree weather and unshoveled sidewalks and go on a walk.

I threw Ind in her cozy pram, bundled her with fleece blankies and headed off.

She must have enjoyed it because she took a sweet 3 hour nap afterward.

Two for Tuesday...

My Favorite thing this week:

this pot

My grandma gave it to me at my shower almost 5 years ago and as you can see we have got a lot of use out of it.  I use it almost every time I cook.  Not only do I cook pasta in it but I also use it for browning meat or cooking soups.  It is very versatile.  The brand is not on the pot and I have long since thrown the box so I couldn't find it online but click here or here to see basically the same thing.  If you are in need of a great pot I would highly recommend this one.

A series of events, some unfortunate some not...

Unfortunately, Chloe has pneumonia and Maddie had a temperature of 104 all weekend.

Fortunately, Indie has been able to avoid it (knock on wood).

Fortunately, we went to Costco, the greatest store ever, and loaded up on formula and string cheese.

Unfortunately, the crabby sample guy yelled at me for taking a sample off the wrong tray...who knew rules like that were in place?

Fortunately, we were able to hang out with N & A, one of my best friends from high school, her hubby and the lil' lima bean in her belly.  And we converted them to Ticket to Ride.

Unfortunately, Tony still couldn't beat Allie.

Fortunately, we were able to spend Sunday with Kim.  We all needed some time to relax...especially Indie.

Fortunately, we had a rockin' dinner at the McKean's Sunday night followed by a round of Last Word and another rousing game of train game.

Unfortunately, Allie wasn't there and Tony still couldn't win.  I totally schooled him.

Unfortunately, our adorable Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley passed away this weekend.

Fortunately, we were able to know him, hear his words and learn from him.  He was inspirational and truly an example of hard work and love.  What a sweet man.  Above all, I am glad he is now with his wife.

Friday Feature...

Today I would like to feature my little sister

Lydia 的照片

And, as you can see, no she is not Chinese, she has just spent a lot of her time there as of late.  In fact, at 5'11'' she is quite the opposite of Chinese and turns many heads during her travels.  Lydia Mae is 22 years old and lives in Salt Lake City in a condo with some friends.  She works for a company called Crystal Tones and has the opportunity to travel quite a bit.

Here she is enjoying river crab.  That is one thing a Rigby knows how to do...eat.

Lyd said the food was divine in China.

Here she is hanging with a local...Helen.

Lyd has brought us home many treasures, this is one of our favorites.

Some of the perks of China include plastic wrapped clothing fresh from the cleaners and hours of spa treatments for the equivalent of mere dollars.

Lydia is the most artistic and creative person I know.  Her beautiful artwork adorned the walls of our home growing up.  She is a great aunt to her nieces and is about the only person I know willing to finger paint with Chloe.  She is very adventurous and outgoing and she has always been a little wild (or brave, one of the two).  She is the only one to sneak out of mom and dad's while the alarm was set, get arrested for stealing and using a Domino's Pizza delivery sign and to have one more strike before losing all of her inheritance from my dad.  Lyd is always good for a laugh and is the life of the party wherever she goes.
I love you Lydi.

You know your obsessed when...

One of my resolutions this year is to attend the temple at least once a month.  I set up a kid swap with Leash and Kev so that they take Ind so we can go and I take Chlo and Mad so they can go. Neil, Allie, Tony and I decided that once every three months we will do either baptisms, washing and annointings, or sealings, and the other months we will do endowments.  (If you don't get what I am talking about click here.)

So we went to the Bountiful Temple tonight and here is the conversation Tony and I had while we were waiting in the chapel:

Me: We should have brought the camera so we could have taken a picture of us outside for the blog.  I am going to write the blog in my head right now.

Tony: Okay, I am going to pray and do a little blogging to Heavenly Father.

That goes to show you where my mind was...needless to say it was a good session.

One down eleven to go.

Beauty is pain...

These are the new boots Tony got me for Christmas.  I love them, but on an Oprah scale, they are only about two hour shoes.  Sadly, church is three hours.

Happy Golden Birthday Lydi...

My little sister Lydia turned 22 today, the 22nd of January.

We hope you had a great day Lyd and that you have fun in Tucson.

We love you!

Love, J.T.I

Two for Tuesday...

Another one of my favorite things...

This is, without a doubt, the funniest show ever.
Every character is at his best.
Sometimes we have to rewind 2 or 3 times just to catch all the funny stuff that happens.
Our friends gave us all three seasons on dvd for Christmas, it was one of the better gifts we have ever received.

Friday Feature...

Every Friday I am going to introduce people who are near and dear to my heart in what I have named my "Friday Feature."

My Sister and Brother-in-Law
Alicia and Kevin Hatch
Leash and Little Kev have been married for 6 1/2 years.  Leash is a "sahm" (stay-at-home-mom) and Kev sales cars, so they always have the sweetest rides.  They just bought a beautiful new home and are busy finishing the basement.  They are amazing examples to me of true patience and love, and are as easy going as can be.  I find as I get older that a lot of who I am is due to Alicia.  I like certain music or dislike certain singers because she did, I wanted to be just like her growing up and I still do, seriously.  I have always valued her opinion.  We worked together as servers, went to school together, lived together and worked out together for about 3 years and were inseparable.  During those times we grew very close and I love that we still have such a great relationship.  I love you both.

My Niece
Chloe Lynne, 4
When I was younger, someone referred to me as "boxed lightening," I have since calmed down but I am afraid I passed it on to my niece.  Chlo is as wild as they come.  She is the most daring, energetic, fun child in the world.  She has been swimming since she was a baby and you should see some of the tricks Tony does with her in the pool.  She just started pre-school and is loving every minute of it.  I love you Chlo Bug.

My Niece
Madison Belle, 2
For as wild as Chloe is, Maddie is sweet.  She is like a little angel baby.  She started talking fluently a few months ago and hasn't stopped since, she has the cutest little voice.  Mad couldn't say Indie at first and started calling her "Deet Deet" and it stuck.  She is very protective of everyone and will tell you off if she thinks you are being mean.  Her face gets all serious and her eyes are all wide, it is adorable.  I love you little grinchy.

My Nephew
?, 11 weeks
This little lima bean is still a cookin'.  I think it is going to be a boy but we won't find out for a few more weeks.  I can't wait to meet you hopefully on 8-8-08 or you could come a few days early as a wonderful birthday present to me.  I love you already.

Stay tuned next week:  I am going to feature my little Chinese sister...

Half fish, half baby...

Growing up, we spent as much time as we could in the water.  Wether we were at Surf 'n Swim, Cherry Hill, Farmington Pool or Aunt Joanie's, we were always swimming.  I have so many great memories from times spent at the pool, (like when the lifeguards used to jump in to "save" Lyd because she could swim at such a young age,) I guess I wanted that for my baby.  Luckily Indie has taken to the water like a true Rigby.
When she was younger she was very tense and the pool was about the only place she would fully relax.  Every time we went swimming she would end up falling asleep and have, what we dubbed, a "flap" (floating/nap).

This was her first time swimming.  It was still a little too cold because it was only May 10th.

Our little fish in action...

A fine young man...

I once heard a man speaking about how his daughter had married "a fine young man" and I realized that is one of the greatest compliments a man could receive.  I too have married a fine young man and would just like to point out some qualities that I love about Tony...

He is a worthy priesthood holder.
He gives me beautiful blessings.

Happy Birthday Allie...

Today was our best friend Allie's birthday. We left our kids with our moms and headed for dinner at Happy Sumo. After eating all the sushi our bellies could handle we headed home for ice cream and American Idol. Happy Birthday Al, we hope you had a wonderful day.
