Saving Mother Earth...

...one very small recycling can at a time.
Sadly, Utah is not on the cutting edge of recycling programs.  Luckily I found a local company that will pick up my recyclables twice a month for only 10 bucks.  This will have to do until Utah pulls its head out or we move to Washington.

And you thought you had a bad hair day...

Indie woke up from a nap looking like this...
Ace Ventura curl and all,
...wow.

Memorial Weekend...

On Saturday, the stars aligned, and we went to
two movies in a row...
Indiana Jones was definitely a typical Indiana Jones movie but still really good.  Ol' Harrison has still got it and that Shia, mmmm.
We took a dinner break at Costa Vida and then headed to Iron Man.  This show was awesome and Robert Downey Jr. was totally hot.  Who knew?  Gwenyth was adorable as usual.

On Monday, Tony and Sparky played 27 holes of golf and about 30% of them in the pouring rain...
Tony is sporting his new twinner bag and rocked his new irons.
Annelee joined them for 18 and I joined them for 9.  Then Kim and Indie joined us for dinner at Corbin's Grille.  The weather actually cleared up and made for a nice day.

Two for Tuesday...

Falling into my favorite thing category:

This adorable jersey that Kim gave Indie for her birthday.
Kim pulled a few strings and Carlos even signed it to "Little Boozer."

Happy Birthday Clo Bug...

Today my niece Chloe turned 5.

I can't believe it has already been five years.

I can remember the day she was born like it was yesterday.  I was able to watch her birth and it was the most amazing thing I had ever witnessed.
Since she was a little girl Chloe has been all sass but she can also be a total sweetheart.  I called to wish her a happy birthday and it was like having a conversation with an adult.  I can't believe how grown up she is.
I love you Clo Clo.  I hope you have a great day.

I heart Missy...

Last night we went to the
Mason Jennings/Brett Dennen/Missy Higgins concert
at the Paladium downtown.

It was freaking amazing to say the least.

We were about 10 feet from her the whole time.  I wanted to cry, she was so amazing.
Tony yelled, "Salt Lake loves you," and she looked right at him.

I had never heard of Brett Dennen but besides the fact that he looked like a man dressed as a woman, his bassist looked like a woman dressed as a man, and his drummer looked like Woody Harrelson from Kingpin...
these guys were seriously rockin'.  I couldn't believe that voice was coming from that person.  Check out some of their stuff here, here and here.

Mason was awesome.  Easy on the eyes and easy on the ears.  I love his lyrics.  He was practically looking right at my camera here.
He has a female bassist, pretty sweet.
Here's everybody that went.
Here we are looking like grease kitties, but I guess that is what you get after rockin' out for 4 hours in a smelly sweaty bar.

Adding to the list of things to do before I die...

The List...

Instead of doing two "two for tuesday" posts, I am going to do one big "favorite thing" post.

I bumped into Chelsea, one of my best friends from high school, the other day. She is prego with her first baby, due the first part of July, and she said she wanted to know all of the things I thought she needed.

Here is a list of my favorite baby things...

Bouncer
This vibrating/bouncing chair was great when Indie was younger, she would hang out in it all the time and she slept well in it too.

Positioner
This little contraption put my mind at ease every night knowing that she couldn't roll around.

Pack N Play
We just got a little cheapie but it does the job. It has been great for camping.

Binki
We tried and tried for Indie to take any other bink besides this one but she insisted on the soothie. I have linked to a page with a variety, they are all good and they all say they are safe for babies teeth so just go with what you think is cute.

Diaper Champ
This really is a champ, the best part is you can use a normal garbage bag so you don't have to buy the fancy refill kits.  It comes in blue too.

Jogger
Can't live without it.

Bumbo
This was nice for while I was cooking. I would set her in it on the counter and she would just chill.

Boppy
I loved this for nursing and for just holding her.

Bottles
These were great bottles, easy to use and dishwasher safe.

Car Seat
We have loved our car seat and the best part is that there is a base that buckles in so all I have to do is click her seat in and out.

Jumper
Ind has been jumping since she came out of the womb. She loves this thing and so do we. The one we have has a little tray in front of it so we can put toys on it for her to play with.

Swing
Indie seriously slept in hers for the first 4 months of her life.

Changing Table
We have loved having a changing table. It is nice to not have to bend over or sit on the floor to do it.

Bjorn
Can't live without this bird. It is great for everything: vacuuming, dishes, mowing the lawn etc. It is a lifesaver.

We don't have a sling but after reading this blog I am dying to get one the next time around.

Backpack
Lowell and Mindy hooked us up with the back pack pictured below and we love it. It is great for hiking and Tony uses it a lot when mowing the lawn. Eventually we want to get one like the one pictured above because it has a shade and area to pack other stuff. Maybe before we backpack through Europe...one day.

High Chair
We freaking love this high chair. It can roll so with our wood floors I can put Ind in it and push it all around the house.
It leans back so if she falls asleep she can stay in it.

Hook On High Chair
We don't have one of these but our moms do and Ind uses it while at "Grandma's House." They are nice because they are so compact, you can take them anywhere.

We love this monitor because it lights up when she cries so we don't have to turn the volume up so high that it blows us out of the water.
Chels, I hope this helps.

Does anyone have anything to add to "the list?"

5th Annual Green River Trip...

For the past 5 years we have gone to Green River, Utah for a camping trip with "The SmiKeanLeys" (Smiths, McKeans, and Bentleys)

Green River is a little podunk town just outside of Moab that we have grown to love.

Here is Ind in her sweet camping chair...
We play a lot of golf while we are there.  We played a few normal rounds along with two scrambles, it was really fun.  This is one of my favorite holes...
Here is my little golfing buddy, she would seriously just hang out or take a nap the whole time...
Tony's golf tan...
We did some hiking in Goblin Valley...

And more hiking in Little Wild Horse Canyon...

Our newest tradition is hitting this greasy spoon, Ray's Tavern, for burgers, fries and shakes...
The trip was awesome as usual.  Thanks for such a fun and relaxing weekend.
