On Saturday night we went to The Police concert at Usana.
In a word it was...brilliant.
Luckily Tony, Neil and Katy went early and waited in line so we could get a good piece of grass. Tony likened it to sitting on the surface of the sun and said that he probably lost 5 pounds of water weight. Thanks for sacrificing yourselves because the seats were well worth it. We were on the front row of the lawn area.
Elvis Costello and the Imposters were the opening act. I don't know any of their stuff and to be honest I thought he was some piano playing jazz guy but to the contrary he was rocking out on the electric guitar and I really enjoyed them. Sting and Elvis did a little duet and sang right to "Allison."
Sting is still as dead sexy as he has always been. His voice was like milk and honey...so pure. The drummer was so fun to watch and he even had to wear gloves because he gets so into it.
They had the crowd sing along a lot which was really fun. They sang a lot of their greatest hits starting out with Message in a Bottle, a classic.
There is something about lying on a blanket under the stars in warm weather while eating really delicious food and listening to amazing music with my favorite person that is so thrilling...so romantic.
I do love a good concert.
